The weather turned out unexpectedly well on Saturday and sunblock rather than waterproofs was the order of the day. Eight paddlers set off from the public slipway at Windsor Leisure centre, after making way for the 'Duck Tours' amphibious vehicle.

Windsor To Runnymede

We paddled through the historic town centre with Windsor Castle providing a stunning backdrop. The flag flying told us that the Queen was indeed in the house.

Paddling past the Queens back garden or Home Park we were warned not to moor or land otherwise we would face severe consequences! The lock keepers however were very friendly and allowed us through the large Thames locks.

We passed through Runnymede and reached our final destination without incident. Luckily the Queen was there to meet us and was more than happy to pose for photographs.

We rounded off our trip with a slap up meal at the nice cafe in Runnymede.
