In 2012 Minima Yacht Club, with the help of grants from Sport England Inspired Facilities and the London Marathon Charitable Trust, has upgraded its facilities. This has only been possible, thanks to the time and commitment shown by the members.

The ground floor river facade of the Club has been transformed from its wooden fenced appearance, to a completely glazed exterior. Not only letting in more light, but reinforcing the welcoming nature of the Club. See below for the 'before' and 'after':
The ground floor interior tea and workshop area now has splendid river views too:
The main Club House room has space suitable for receptions, parties, meetings/workshops and a new composite floor suitable for any activity from aerobics to zumba :

There is a comfortable seating area and fully equipped bar:
The snug provides a cosy intimate area for seating.
Members and visitors alike can't help but comment on the joy of being able to sit on the balcony, over- looking the river and watch the world go by. Whether you're an indoor or outdoor person, the new doors from the main Club House room let you decide!

All of the Club's facilities can be enjoyed by everyone, including those who may be less mobile, thanks to the installation of a stair lift. There is also wheelchair access to the ground floor and a new disabled shower and toilet.

Minima YC also has new additional toilets, new showers, and an upgraded kitchen with two double ovens, suitable for catering for up to 50 people.
In the video below, you can hear Denise Norman (Honorary Secretary during the upgrade works), talking about the Olympic Legacy Funding:
